Step 1 of 6

What best describes your home?

Different buildings need different crews, so this is the first thing a roofer asks.

No fee, no obligation, nothing to cancel.

The material warranty

It comes from the manufacturer, it covers defects in the product, and it is conditional on the roof having been installed exactly to specification. A shingle nailed in the wrong place voids it without anybody noticing for fifteen years.

The workmanship warranty

This one comes from the contractor and covers the installation. It is normally five to ten years, and it is worth precisely as much as the company still being in business when you need it.

Where the gap is

Most roof failures are installation failures, which means the manufacturer will not pay and the contractor is the only recourse. That is why who you hire matters more than what they install.

What to get in writing

Both documents, in the company name, with terms and a transfer clause if you might sell. And keep them somewhere you will find them in a decade.

Find out what it costs

It is free, and nothing obliges you to hire anyone.
